5 | Each docking station is a typical Roomba Docking Station (citation needed). These consist of an infrared light which the roomba tracks, a plastic housing, and a positive and negative charging pad, which the roomba's own receptacles come into contact with when properly aligned. This has been confirmed to have short-circuit protection implemented as several have tried to start fires with [Aluminum foil](https://wiki.otter.land/Room%20Objects/Aluminum%20foil), but any attempts resulted in failure. |

7 | There are two main ways of docking; auto docking, and manual docking. Auto docking is a function built into the roomba. This behavior is intentionally disabled from users of the site, but you can attempt to trick the site and press F and the F5 key, which skips some check the rover makes, and enters into the auto docking mode. This would be perfectly adequate for normal roombas, but these models are flawed in their contact surfaces (which get gunked up, making the roomba never reach docked mode) and sensor array (plastic lens on the front of the roomba getting scratched). We still don't know why a scratched sensor cover would cause this behavior. All of these issues would probably be fixed if Carpet cleaned the contacts every 1-3 months. |

9 | Manual docking is a simple action, where the user simply has to manually drive the roomba up onto the dock in order to line it up. Pressing G enables Dock Assist, which makes docking as easy as possible by tilting the camera and limiting your speed. |

| 11 | Whichever method is used, when the roomba detects that contact has been made with the charge pads (current begins flowing), the roomba's Raspberry Pi Zero 2W computer detects it, and Drive Mode is disabled until being re-enabled. |

17 | Carpet added a undock detection system to prevent this, it is not very effective though and is easily ignored, It seems to work off of a proxy basis, So the closest piloted roomba gets "stunned" for a couple seconds if a roomba gets pushed off the dock, Carpet refuses to explain it due to security concerns, This makes him very suspect to the [recent events](https://wiki.otter.land/Roomba%20rover%20animal%20testing) in Scandinavia involving dropping wild avian populations, Carpet is currently being investigated by the related parties, no incriminating evidence has been found (yet).
